A screw conveyor for Grit Removal: Screw conveyor is a mechanism that uses a rotating helical screw blade. Usually within a tube, to move liquid or granular materials. Akar manufactures screw conveyors for screening and grit removal applications.The srews used are made of Carbon Steel (Mild Steel) with abrasion and corrosion resistant coating. . The central shaft is made of seamless pipe and the housing is manufactured from Carbon Steel Sheets. One end of the Screw Conveyos is dipped inside the grit chamber, where grit is accumulated. The conveyor screw picks up the grit from the bottom and conveys it to the top, from where it is dropeed by gravity. Dried grit is collected into the bins and disposed off. Size of the Screw Conveyor depends on its capacity requirement and angular configuration desired. The gears and head of the conveyors are designed for continuous operation.
